National Apprenticeship Week 2022
This week (7th February 2022 – 11th February 2022) is National Apprenticeship Week in the UK.
This week we are celebrating National Apprenticeship Week with our apprentices, sharing their experience of being an apprentice and why they choose to go down this route.
If you are thinking about taking on an apprentice or are looking for the next step after high school or college, have a read of what our apprentice has to say.
Emma Berrisford – Administrator Apprentice
This whole process for me started back in November 2021 when I had decided after over a year that A-levels weren’t my thing so I started another course at a completely different college, I had wanted to do an apprenticeship but couldn’t find anything I thought suited me, so I just let it go.
After only 3 weeks on my new course Scott (one of the Directors of Amplo) and Josh (another business administrator apprentice) showed up at my college to give us a talk about their business and I instantly knew it was a business I wanted to work for. I asked multitudes of questions and just loved the whole presentation, they must have taken a shining to me also since the week after my teacher tells me that Scott had emailed and would like me to come into his office for a chat and to see what the business was like, I had the best day. The following day I got a phone call and was offered my full-time apprenticeship role.
I had already decided that A-levels didn’t appeal to me and then everything started to fall into place when I was offered my apprenticeship in something that I had finally decided that I wanted to pursue, it all sounded perfect. Skip forward a few months and I have finally started my apprenticeship; this is only the start of my second week, and I have never enjoyed learning new things more. No one has ever made me feel silly for not knowing a lot and the office environment is so light hearted and fun, the love in the office is so apparent for every employee and all of us are so valued, as well as still having the serious knowledge part of it.
I understand that apprenticeships are not for everyone but for me it was perfect and in the least embarrassing way I am super grateful for it.
We part of the Amplo Group and as a group, we also provide mortgages through Amplo Mortgages. Find out what our Mortgage Administration Apprentice, Josh Hallam has to say about his apprenticeship.
