Meet the Team – Q&A with Matt Timms
Each week we will be speaking to a member of the Amplo team, this week it’s Matt Timms, Director at Amplo Commercial Finance.
Firstly, tell us a little bit about yourself
I’m a Director at Amplo Commercial Finance and head up the Asset Finance team here. On a day to day, I deal with client enquiries, lenders and make sure the finance applications are processed correctly. In my free time I like to go for walks with my dog Maya and my partner Sophie, and I have 8 chickens!
What’s your favourite part of the job?
My favourite part of the job is helping our clients’ businesses grow by allowing them to access the finance that they need to buy equipment, machinery and plant – everything they need for their business to succeed.
What is the most challenging part of the job?
Probably working with Scott
What advice would you give your younger self?
My advice to my younger self would be don’t be afraid to fail, I’ve had a couple of businesses before which didn’t exactly go to plan but here we are today with Amplo, a very successful business. I don’t think I would be where I am today without making those mistakes.

So, Scott stole my answer to this question so I can’t say that so I would say my inspiration is Scott.

What are you looking forward to in the next 12 months?
I’m really looking forward to expanding our team, we’re up to about 11 members of staff and we’ve just moved offices. So growing the team by adding great people to the team and growing the business.
